Study on the immigration phenomenon in Romania. The integration of foreign nationals into Romanian society Budget line: The European Fund for the Integration of third-country nationals Beneficiary: The SOROS Foundation During this project, the ARPS was responsible for conducting qualitative research among third-country nationals, an activity whose purpose was to collect information regarding the population’s involvement in the process of TCN integration. The result consisted in a report based on 6 case studies (life stories) among TCN. The ARPS also conducted qualitative research in order to identify the most efficient methods of accessing information for TCN and evaluate their information needs. The 35 in-depth structured interviews were carried out with TCN and representatives of relevant institutions and organizations involved in the field of foreign nationals’ integration. Through the studies resulting from these two components of the project, the ARPS contributed to the production of a complex report regarding the immigration phenomenon in Romania, which was published by the Soros Foundation. 3. A Future Together – A society ready to accept and benefit from the presence of foreign citizens residing legally in Romania Budget line: The European Fund for the Integration of third-country nationals Beneficiary: ARPS The project set out to conduct a public information and awareness campaign regarding the need for and the advantages of immigration. The campaign ran in 12 counties in Romania which register the highest number of third-country nationals (TCN) and the project’s activities consisted in creating a media campaign (a press campaign, the creation and broadcasting of television and radio ads, an online campaign) and seven local information seminars. The general objective of the project “A Future Together” is to increase the Romanian population’s degree of awareness of the need for and advantages of the social integration of foreign nationals in order to create a favorable climate among the Romanian population with regard to immigration and the benefits brought by the social integration of TCN.
